P6_Poster

"Save the Planet" We've been saying it for decades... The planet needs our help! We each have a personal responsibility to do our part in protecting the Earth. Environmental Posters usually have a soft look to them. Many of them use colors of green and blue. A quick search reveals a plethora of suitable examples to draw inspiration from. (www.bing.com/images/search?q=environmental+posters&FORM=HDRSC2) However, I wanted my poster to set a different tone. I wanted to express a sense urgency to the situation at hand. I drew inspiration for my poster from early Propaganda Posters that emerged out of the USSR. (www.bing.com/images/search?q=ussr+propoganda+posters&FORM=HDRSC2) My illustration depicts the a Man contemplating his place in the world and his future to come. At the same time, I depict the Earth as part of a pendulum that sets about the certainty of time passing and the inevitability of colliding with a Naval Mine that is suspended adjacent to the ...

"Hear No Evil, See No Evil, Speak No Evil" Does this face belong to someone who is disfigured?... Perhaps it's just a reminder to be mindful of what we say, what we watch, and what we listen to... Are we not influenced by what we see and hear? Don't our words impact others? Should we not be concerned with these things? Being overwhelmed by social media in our modern age, I've pulled away from many consumer habits and societal norms. I don't want a simple life, just a good one. This piece is about living a life free of celebrity gossip, fake network news, and negative social media. My goal is to make more time and room in my life for greater more worth while pursuits. The simple idea of my piece is right on the surface... The illustration is of my face without the features needed to hear, see, and speak. There is still one eye though, because I don't want to live completely blind to the world. The colors are natural, as I'm referring to the nat...

Personal Logo (P3, color logo)

Image
PERSONAL LOGO: My logo is representative of several aspects of who I am. Some of these elements represent my 20 years of active duty service in the military... (3 years in the Navy and 17 years in the Marine Corps). It also has contrast and depth, as does my personality. Some of these elements are right on the surface, and several are more hidden... Much more personal and not intended to be seen by the casual onlooker. When you see my logo, you are seeing who I am... If I couldn't tell you my name or who I am, you would still recognize me when you see my brand! I consider all 3 versions of my logo to be an official representation of who I am. The top one has more dimensionality to it, and it has a gradient mesh applied to it. The second one uses a linear gradient, while the last one is represented in solid color. My logo does not have an outline... It is bold right to the outer edge! I consider all 3 versions...

Calligram Project

"The Rifleman's Creed" The first time I heard this was during Marine Corps Basic Training in 1998 at MCRD San Diego. After twenty years, it still retains it's impact and effectives at stirring the warrior spirit from within. It was written after the attack on Pearl Harbor... The image, is the United States Marine Corps Emblem. It is also known as the "Eagle, Globe & Anchor". The Eagle represents our Nation. The Globe represents World Wide Service (Marines are ready to answer our Nation's call at any time), and Anchor represents the Naval Traditions that the Marine Corps was born out of. "This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My rifle is my best brined. It is my life.  I must master it as I must master my life. My rifle, without me, is useless. Without me rifle, I am useless. I must fire my rifle true. I must shoot straighter than my enemy who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before ...

Nas Feratu, License to Kill (HTML5 CANVAS PROJECT)

Image
Hours: 12 Est. Nas Feratu is instinctually drawn to the blood dripping from 007's noise suppressed pistol. The only question is, "Does Bond have a silver bullet"? My project is a blend of the iconic artwork for Nas Feratu (Dracula) and  the James Bond 007 movies. I was particularly drawn to the contrast of the curved lines from the gun barrel and dripping blood and the triangular overlapping shapes and jagged lines from Nas Feratu. One of the hardest parts in creating this was figuring out the layering order for the triangles. <!DOCTYPE HTML> <html> <head> <script> window.onload = function() { var canvas = document.getElementById("myCanvas"); var context = canvas.getContext("2d"); ////////////////////////////////////// start below this line ˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇ //background!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! var x = 0; var y = 0; var width = canvas.width; var height = canvas.height; context.beginPath(); context....
